What are some of the more interesting items All County Sheet Metal has made for the public?

Well, in South Florida we have a lot of ethnic diversity, especially from the Caribbean and South America. There are times around Christmas time we’ve really saved some people in their traditions because they roast pigs. They need a metal pan for certain types of cooking. A guy will come in, and he’ll say, “Can you make this for me? My pan is rotted out and I’ve got people coming over for Christmas.” We’ll end up fabricating him a pan, and he’ll use it for charcoal, and that’s how he’ll roast their pig. That’s always been rewarding to help people during the holidays.

Some people have a barbecue grill that’s his favorite, and he just wants a custom grills and we can do that for him, too.

One of the things that was really interesting; we had a fellow that came in, and he was in a Renaissance group. They used to joust, and they used to make their own chain mail. We sold him the parts, and he would actually make his own chain mail for their armor.

Also, sometimes guys are trying to restore their favorite vehicles from the past. It’s difficult trying to find people that can make custom pieces. Whether it’s for a door or for a pan in their trunk or something like that, we’ve had so many people that really appreciate the kind of custom work that we can do for them and supply them materials. It’s not something you get from Lowe’s or a Home Depot.

One of the things that we like to consider is that the customers appreciate what we do for them in a timely fashion. Especially the general public, because too many times other shops are only dealing with the trades, and they just don’t consider the general public. It’s very rewarding to help all aspects of our customer base.
