What are some of the sheet metal products sold by All County?
Production is a different division because usually it’s materials that we sell to distributors; like air conditioning contractors and plumbing contractors. We usually do that through a distributor. Contractors usually buy other things from a distributor, AC units, water heaters, etc. We supply distributors with the auxiliary pans for both the AC and plumbing industries.
How does the production line differ from the custom line at All County?
Usually, it’s a repetitive product. It doesn’t require the same skillset as the custom sheet metal line.
Do you carry some of the production inventory in stock?
That’s something that we’ve added over the years, because as business has picked up, we’ve had to come up with ideas and ways to increase our production and distribution. For inventory-produced items, we can pull them out of stock. Everything that we have at the shop is FOB. Our distributors pick them up at our shop, and we have them ready and palletized.
What are some of the production sheet metal items that you have?
In South Florida, where we’re at, it’s mandated that any unit, whether it’s a water heater or an air conditioning air handler that’s on the second floor or above, has to have a auxiliary pan, so if there’s a leak or an overflow the pan obviously catches the condensation, and it doesn’t end up ruining the floor or the drywall or damaging the homeowner’s property.
There are some contractors that work in Palm Beach that require copper venting. Usually, that isn’t a distributor item. We found that if we’ll stock them; vents, we call them goosenecks, when they do need them we have them in stock. It’s one of those impulsive items that maybe the air conditioning contractor was supposed to supply, or maybe the roofing contractor, and maybe there was a mix up. When they need it to dry in a roof, they have to have them. Over the years decided to stock that item, also.
